2021 List of New Jersey Second Chance Checking Accounts

Consumers without a bank account will benefit from second chance checking accounts in New Jersey, according to a recent report from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

The report says one in 4 New Jersey residents conducts financial transactions either without a bank account or through some type of alternative financial service such as a check-cashing store or prepaid debit card.

Operating financial transactions outside the mainstream banking system costs money in extra fees and interest and makes it tougher to build credit and financial stability. There are a few banks and credit unions in New Jersey that do not use ChexSystems or EWS.
